Song of the Thin Man

Since my froker (friend/co-worker) Rachel has my beloved The Apartment until tomorrow, I went to sleep to Sweet Charity--a great, underappreciated movie musical that manages to cut out some of the greatest songs from the stage play and still be half an hour too long. Still, it's got some fabulous Bob Fosse choreography and a Yorkshire Terrier eating an ice cream bar. (Okay, that last part is blink-and-you-miss-it, but it's a hilarious shot.)

I also watched Song of the Thin Man mainly because it was the shortest movie saved on my DVR. It's the last in the series of Thin Man movies, so now I've seen the first and the last. These films are kind of weak on plot, but are fun to watch and feature an adorable wired-hair terrier named Asta. Asta was a popular pooch in the 30's and 40's. (It wasn't always the same dog.) I most recently saw him at a Wachovia in downtown Jersey City, applying for a small-business loan.

No, no. I saw him in Topper Takes a Trip, where his character was inexplicably a ghost.

Song of the Thin Man got me one step closer to my 7 Myrna Loy movies. For those keeping track, I've seen:

The Thin Man
Song of the Thin Man
Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House
(one of my favorites)
The Best Years of Our Lives (Okay, it's sad that Harold Russell lost his hands, but TWO Oscars for that performance? What up, 1947 Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences?)
Cheaper by the Dozen? (If you work with me, you know why I chose to use a question mark.)

I would like to know just how many movies you actually own? Are any of them recent? Do you have movies that you own but have never seen? Do you have movies that you have had to give up or destroy to stop yourself from watching them? Have you ever considered do the latter?
