My friend Traci needs something to read on her lunch break. So here, Traci.
I finally saw the first hour of An Affair to Remember last night. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, Deborah Kerr's freakishly straight spinal column notwithstanding. Someday someone will explain to me why, 3/4 of the way through this sweeping romantic drama, the audience is graced by a bizarre (and a little racist) musical interlude starring 15 or so of the scrappiest kids working the backlot of Fox Studios. And now I've seen 11 Cary Grants and 5 Deborah Kerrs.
Tonight I'm seeing Stalag-17 at the Film Forum. It will be my 13th Billy Wilder movie and my 7th William Holden.
And yes, if you asked me off the cuff to name every movie I've seen starring a particular actor, I'd probably be able to rattle it off for you. My life is that empty.
