My favorite movie theater for seeing classic films in New York City is the Film Forum. My least favorite thing about the Forum? A-holes who chuckle every time the amount someone pays for rent or for their house is mentioned in an old movie. We get it, people. Things cost more now.
I went to see The Apartment with my buddy Russell this past summer, and I said, "Watch. Jack Lemmon's gonna say how much he pays for an Upper West Side apartment (about $90 a month) and everyone's gonna chuckle at the low amount." And I was right. Same thing happened last night at Annie Hall. Except Russell wasn't there. (I originally said he wasn't there because he had died, but he thinks I have secret killing powers, so I changed it.)
