What's Cookin?

I think I might turn orange.

In the past 4 days, I've made:

sweet potato pancakes (they came apart, so I made them into hash browns and they were fine)

pumpkin pancakes (good once I realized that Pam for baking works best in a stainless steel pan)

sweet potato casserole (Mom's recipe, a little bland but good)

pumpkin corn muffins (OK, will bring these to work)

pumpkin smoothie (made with leftover ingredients from the muffins--delicious)

and pumpkin soup (okay, but too much liquid--and never use cilantro that comes in a tube. Ich.)

I also made alphabet soup (good); beef stew (overcooked and icky); and orecchiette with broccolini, garlic, red pepper flakes, parmesan cheese, and olive oil.

You know what else I made? A big mess.

But then I cleaned up so my Mom wouldn't flip her lid when she saw the above picture.
She's still going to complain.

How old are those gourds?
Did the paper towel rack break?
Shouldn't the dustbuster be in the charger?
It's like that "What's Wrong" feature from Highlights Magazine. Mom could always spot an elephant hiding in a tree.

I bet you took that second picture BEFORE you cooked and the kitchen still looks like picture one. :)

Yeah, I have to agree with Suzy Q on this one - I really wasn't expecting there to be a clean kitchen picture. What did happen to the paper towel holder? The broccolini thing sounds good, was there a recipe?

Mmm.. I had a craving for pumpkin towards the end of the year. And good thing too it was at that time as there was pumpkin food everywhere.

Love potato pancakes, but I'd never heard of using sweet potatoes before. Clever.
