Sex and the Austrian Governess

So I was talking to EM, whose last day was today, and I asked her if she was going to sneak out without saying goodbye a lá Maria Von Trapp in Sound of Music. And then I suggested she just leave a Post-It Note saying, “I’m sorry. I can’t. Don’t hate me,” which is how Berger broke up with Carrie on Sex and the City. And then I decided it would have been funny if Maria Von Trapp had left a Post-It Note saying, “I’m sorry. I can’t. Don’t hate me.” You know, because there were no Post-It Notes in 1930s Austria.

Greetings Carli! I'm here from Michele's and enjoyed the visit! Love your blog!

P.S. I wish I had been the one to invent Post-It notes... If I were, I'd actually be paying someone ELSE to post in your blog today! LOL!

Hi, Carli, thanks for stopping by.

I think such a post-it could be used for a variety of situations, don't you?

Government officials resigning, bands canceling tours, etc.

Hello Carli!
Michele sent me. I Love your blog. the post-it note idea made me giggle and then it made me remember an office prank where we post-it noted every square inch of our new site director's office and labeled everything.
So what would the Von Trapps write, "So long, farewell,Auf Wiedersehen, goodnight?"

This is open for many situations. I am speculating.
Glad that I got here from Michele. I would have anyway visited you to thank you for your comments on my blog.

Hi, Michele sent me!

I can just see that Post-It stuck to the big mirror in the Von Trapp hallway.

HAHA! Had Maria been the tarty sort, she could've written that on a mirror in red lipstick. :)

Hi Carli, Michele sent me!

Lol, LOl...Well here is a bit od trivia for you: The Trapp Family came to my High School and performed for all of us....like maybe 1946-47 or maybe it was 1948...I remember it very clearly because all the kids wore their Lederhosen and Maria wore a peasant plouse, etc...They were quite wonderful. All the kids played 'recorders', too...

Actually, there was a deleted scene in which Maria a post-it for Baronness Schrader: "Don't count me out, bi-otch."
