What You've All Been Waiting For?

Today my editor asked me to Google something, and after I found what he needed, he emailed me:

Thanks, G-Monk

To which I replied:

You know, some definitions of “Google Monkey” say that it’s a derogatory term aimed at meaningless interns whose only job is to look stuff up.

to which he kindly replied,

and some say it’s a term of endearment.

“Uh, did you HAVE to mention Terms of Endearment? You did that on purpose, right?”

And then he typed that last part, because he assumed that would be my reply, since Terms of Endearment is all cancery. But I didn't.

So later, I told him I wasn't doing the Saturday activity wonderfulness thing because I have plans Sunday and the weather is going to be crappy. And he said,
"What are you going to do? Sit at home in your own filth?"

To which I replied, defensively, "Why would you say that?"
And he said, "See? I KNEW you you would do one of those 'Why would you say thats' today. So it wasn't Terms of Endearment, it was this thing. I said that because you're always saying how messy your apartment is."

To which I then replied, "I've been keeping my apartment really clean ever since the unfortunate infestation of summer '07." (It was amazing. I actually spoke in hyperlink!)

So then I got to thinking, he's probably right, I should stick to my guns and get out into the world on Saturday. . . but it's only going to be a small excursion, since, as I've repeatedly said, the weather is going to suck and I have a long day ahead of me the next day.

Voting will be open by midnight tonight on my new blog, http://whatshouldcarlido.blogspot.com Let's call this week the practice run for the blog.

I really hope you do get out on Saturday, if only for a little while. It will help keep things going for you.

A new blog? How exciting. It seems to be a trend for some of those on my blogroll of late. Maybe it's not as new as it is my inattentiveness. nevertheless, I am making a concerted effort to return to the blog-o-sphere.

Carli I voted but don't have any idea if it "took". I click my choice - it filled in the circle thingy - but I wasn't sure if that sent the vote in or not.

Good thing I'm old enough that I'm no longer embarrassed by my own ignorance.
