Letter to Starbucks

Dear Starbucks,

Tonight I visited the Starbucks at 22nd Street and 6th Avenue in Manhattan to buy a decaf ginger spice latte and to use the restroom. After placing my order, I entered the restroom and found it to be dirty, littered with toilet paper, and just gross. Additionally, the toilet was covered in several feces stains. I did not use the restroom.

While waiting for the barista to finish making my drink, I politely mentioned that someone might want to clean the bathroom. She sent another employee to check it out. He emerged within seconds and said, "It's not so bad."

Usually, Starbucks has some of the cleanest bathrooms around the city. This was just disgusting. I mean, just out of curiosity, how much poop needs to be on a toilet seat before it's worthy of cleaning? Can I get a weight, in grams?

Thank you,
Carli

Oh man, I would have been out of there so fast...if the bathroom is that bad and they don't seem to think it's an issue, how bad are they about cleanliness behind the counter? Ugghhhh...

Eh, I had already ordered and paid and the barista behind the counter was sufficiently disgusted by her co-worker.

I did wind up going one store over to Cosi to use their bathroom. They didn't make me buy anything, and they even watched my Starbucks coffee for me. They probably spit in it. Then again, why should they care?

Carli,

Sort of diappointing to read about this. Here in B'ham I've found the Starbucks to have excellent customer service, so I guess I have been assuming they keep the bathrooms in good shape. Now I don't want to check so as not to spoil my mental image of Starbucks!

Carli,
I'm really enjoying getting my Present Professor emails, but I've got a question. On the last one (for gamers)it mentioned "leaving a comment below". I don't see any link or way to do that. What am I missing?

Ok Carli....ignore that last ignorant question. I surfed to the website....there are the comment areas. Sorry.
