I do this thing sometimes where, when a friend is looking for a roommate, I find their classified ad and answer it as a fictional person that is just weird enough to creep them out a bit (or at least make them laugh) but not weird enough that the friend automatically realizes this person fake. What can I say? I have a mean streak. Here is my latest:
Hi, ****,
My name is Lindsay and I'm looking for a new place. I'm a 24-year-old from Georgia (go, Bulldogs!). I'm in NJ pursuing a master's in chemical engineering at Stevens Tech. On weekends and some evenings, I moonlight as an "artist" at Edible Arrangements--so if we become roommates, expect lots of fresh fruit. (I hope you like pineapples shaped like daisies LOL!) I'm fairly quiet and am hopelessly addicted to LOST, The Big Bang Theory, and Nova. (I know, total science geek. Guilty, LOL!)
Speaking of LOST, I should also tell you that I am part of a LOST-related role-playing game. We alternate nights at different apartments and locations around Hoboken and Jersey City, but I expect the group would be coming over 3-4 times a month. It's a lively crowd, and you're welcome to join in. I hope this wouldn't distract you too much. It's really fun; everyone wears costumes and pretends they're stuck on an island. (We like to joke that if we were in Manhattan, we really would be stuck on an island, LOL.)
I'm also a vegan. I have no trouble living with meat-eaters; I respect that but also expect that my roommates do their part to keep their food from touching mine. . . usually this means just giving me my own little space in the fridge. (And in return, I will make you delicious vegan cupcakes.)
I'm also really responsible. I pay all my bills on time and don't have any pets (unless you count "Scout," the 3,000 year old bone fossil my father gave me for my college graduation)! I'm also very clean and tidy and, as an engineer, I love to mix up different cleaning concoctions. Don't worry; haven't had any explosions (yet, lol).
Please let me know if this sounds like it could work out. I would be interested in the $1200 room. (Graduate student, no money for a private bath, lol!)
Thanks,
Lindsay Siwanowicz

That's great!
If you remove the LoLs and the creepy Lost roleplaying I bet she's a pretty nice, normal person.
