ENT*N is going to the ENT.
Basically, and I don't want to gross you out too much, but let's just say that I seem to have a cerumen impaction causing me a decent amount of pain and hearing loss. I've had this before, in the years BB (before blogging); the procedure to remove it is both painful and ticklish and hopefully when he's done I'll be able to hear the Concorde landing in London. Oh, yes. Treatment of a cerumen impaction allows you to travel back in time to the days of the Concorde.
I'm also going to ask about doing a sleep study. I had one of these several years ago and it came back borderline for apnea. Now, several years later, I'm constantly waking up about as tired as I was when I went to sleep. I've also discussed my concentration problems here and am wondering if apnea might have something to do with it. I'm also overweight and allergic to everything, which makes me more likely to be--what's the word--apneatic? Finally, I've been told twice lately that I snore: once when I was in Disney World with my family, and once, embarrassingly, when a fellow moviegoer woke me up during Sunshine Cleaning to tell me my snoring was getting in the way of Alan Arkin playing the same guy he played in Little Miss Sunshine and Slums of Beverly Hills. So, I'm going to take this whole ear thing as a sign that I need to get myself to an ENT.
I'll end with a conversation from several years ago.
ME: I wake up every morning, and I feel like I've been hit in the head with a brick.
FRIEND R: And coincidentally, Wendell is standing next to you holding a brick.
