random birthday stuff

I am in so much mental pain right now, if George W. wanted to give what I have to prisoners on Guantanamo Bay, the UN would probably say it amounted cruel and unusual punishement and it was against the Geneva Convention.

On a positive note, I had as nice a birthday as was possible. We took my nieces pumpkin picking, and they seemed to really enjoy it. I got a lot of gift cards for $30 (my,um, new age) and one of them got lost thanks to my mom's habit of hiding them within other gifts. My parents picked out some really great stuff for someone who is really hard to shop for.
Dinner was nice; my friends, parents and I went to a deli where I enjoyed a steak but almost fell asleep in it. (Thank you, new meds!) The salad bar had pieces of spinach knish on it. How cool is that? Deli fries are always good. What do you call that? Crinkly? I also tried to remember the name of the car on The Perils of Penelope Pitsop and accidentally uttered a racial slur instead. Oops.
Sorry for bitching, but that's what blogs are for sometimes, eh?

My Mom is making lunch for Sukkot today. She just informed me that she went ahead and made the Martha Stewart Meatloaf cake. Hopefully, she'll write "happy birthday" on it in ketchup. Yum.

Did you guys put up a sukkah? We didn't get ours up this year, much to my chagrin. Just not enough cooperation from the kids.
