just some new stuff.

Sometimes I have a really bad OCD day for no apparent reason, and today was one of those days. . . so bad, I'm glad I slept for 2 and a half hours this afternoon so I didn't have to be awake. And when I woke up, Wendell was sleeping next to me and I decided that we could be the Interspecies Doubles World Champions of Napping.

Then about 10 minutes ago I was writhing around with a pillow over my head and moaning, as if that were going to stop the shit in my head. I've lost pretty much the whole day, and I didn't get anything done. It's like trying not to set off a bomb; anything I see, hear, or even think can set off a compulsion in my head that can last hours.

All is not lost, though. Tonight is the last Rutgers game of the season, and having gone to the season opener, I can state that I am not a bandwaggoner. And tomorrow I'm going into work to wrap presents for Winter Wishes, the program I run on my floor to buy gifts for underpriveleged children. I'm always amazed at the generosity of some (anonymously buying 12 Game Boys three years ago), the Grinchiness of others (handing me a naked imitation Barbie in a cardboard box for a child who asked for a doll), and the detailed attention so many of my co-workers give to the project. I bonded with one as we sat at her computer one Friday night, agonizing over which were the perfect My Little Ponies. Maybe it's because I am usually so miserable, it's little happy moments like that that keep me going.

The Panda Bear (niece) turns 4 on Tuesday, and I can't believe how fast the time has gone. She called me pretty much every day this week. She's still getting a handle on the workings of the phone. I got a voicemail message at work of her saying to her mother, "I pressed 7, and she's not there." Hilarious. Of all the people she knows, she wants to call me. . . and that's awesome.

I was a little annoyed to be number 7 on my sister's phone, until I realized that, in fairness, she is number 7 on my phone, too.

I had to laugh at the #7 on the phone part. I remember a Seinfeld episode about your position on speed dial, and it was funny!

Michele sent me.

Michele sent me over to see you, Carli. Actually she sent me some time ago but I was pulled away from my computer. Sorry, Carli for my tardiness.

You're higher than number 7 in my book. At least number 5, Carli. Maybe #4. Of course you're not in my phone at all so maybe your high ranking in my book doesn't mean so much. ;-)

Good luck with your Winter Wishes program, Carli. It sounds like a great program.

Seven's a lucky number. What matters is she wanted to call you. Gotta love that!

OK, so you are actually on my phone TWICE. You are #4 (cell) and #7 (work). Which is why panda sometimes calls on your cell at work. And lest you be upset at your position, here is everyone else:

1 - Voicemail (I think it has to be)
2 - Home
3 - Hubby cell
5 - Mom cell
6 - Dad cell
8 - Hubby work
9 - Mom and Dad house
