Wendell has come through surgery well. Thank you for any kind thoughts you sent his way. If you were sending unkind thoughts, you failed in your quest!
If all goes well (fingers crossed) he can come home tomorrow. My apartment has been on the cleanish side lately, but believe me, I'll be going home tonight with a fine-tooth comb and picking up any piece of string, plastic, bottle tops, screwdrivers, monkey bones, etc. that happen to be around.
Now begins the process of paying for the surgery. Wendell could basically have an Associate's Degree with what I've spent. I'll be looking for freelance (maybe someone wants to buy a story about a woman who will climb any mountain to save her cat?), selling some stuff on ebay, cutting back (like to nothing) on sushi and trips to Target and tasty burger restaurants, possibly doing without a cable moden for a while (I really need to cut back on my online time anyway), enjoying my new membership on the Freecycle list, and bringing my tissue box full of coins to Commerce Bank.
