Isaiah Washington, who entered a residential psychiatric facility after using the derogatory term "faggot," is just one of a growing number of public officials and Hollywood stars using hospitalization as a smokescreen to draw attention away from their misdeed. But now, the embattled celebs are finding that inpatient therapy isn't all it's cracked up to be.

"As I understood it, a residential psychiatric facility was JUST the place for someone who had used the word 'faggot,'" admitted Washington. "But after spending all that time with heroin addicts and rape victims, I've begun to question my decision. In retrospect, I probably could have just decided not to say 'faggot' anymore."

Gavin Newsom, the San Francisco mayor who slept with his campaign manager's wife, is similarly disappointed with his current stint in rehab. Newsom reportedly told his alcohol counselor, "Wait. This is a place for alcoholics? I had no idea." Newsom's roommate, actress Lindsay Lohan, was off getting "mani-pedis" with Paris Hilton and could not be reached for comment.

Washington, to his credit, has vowed to "make things right." He says he would like the public's help in understanding why he checked himself into an inpatient psychiatric program, and he plans to enter a rehabilitation center to explore his actions further.
