I was just reading a blog about pencils. (No, seriously--I was looking for confirmation that the Pentech "Never Needs To Be Sharpened" Pencils are actually pens in disguise.) And the blog had not been updated in almost a year. It's not shocking: How much can really be written about pencils?
That got me thinking about all the blogs and Web pages out there, and how so many of them have stagnated. Coming upon the one-year anniversary of beginning this blog, I've decided it's time to hang up my blogging hat. . . at least for now.
I have nothing new to write, and quite frankly I am not happy with what I have been writing or the quality of my writing. I think it's pretty obvious that I'm not happy with anything anymore, and I'm not going to continue spread my gloom and doom through the bowels of cyberspace looking for solace or attention or whatever it is I've been doing here.
Thanks to those (2 or 3) of you who actually read this blog. I hope you've found some great movies to watch and maybe cracked a smile at some of what I've written.

Do not stop the blog! I love this blog! I think you should go back to the original intent of movie reviews. You have a terrific sense of humor and a really special way of looking at the world. I appreciate your insights. It keeps me honest.
I came across your blog somehow by following random links, and I've been hooked ever since. I think you have a great writing style and obviously a wonderful sense of humor. I think there are more people out there like me that will be disappointed if/when you stop blogging.
Ahh here! I just found your blog tonight!!!
I completely understand the pressure to write at a certain standard all the time... it's very easy to be your own critic, and very difficult to come up with new and interesting topics at least once a week. It sucks for me, anyway.
I don't know of any other film bloggers, so I'm with Suzy q.. can you still do some reviews?
Take a break for a little while, but don't hang up your hat completely. I agree with the other comments, I love your movie reviews especially. But, I also enjoy your stories and your conversations.
When I was reading this post it reminded me of the Pencil Museum in Keswick. I wanted to go when I was visiting, but my travel-mates thought I was crazy and wouldn't let me. I mean, how many people can say they've visited a Pencil Museum?? Not me. :(
Don't you dare stop blogging. I'll be really disappointed -- as will others. How can you ignore your fans? We need at least a weekly dose of your wit!

NOOO!!!!! I love this blog. But I still get to talk to you everyday at work. I guess I'm luckier than most!
Here's an idea: What if EVERYONE stops blogging? Yes, all of us! Go back to LIVING life instead of continually documenting it. And stop taking pictures and videos with your phones at concerts! Just enjoy the concert fer crissakes!!!! And that Blackberry of yours? Throw it in the trash immediately. You're not that important. No one needs to reach you.
I have mine temporarily closed. It wasn't serving its purpose any longer. I'll start back, but it will be different this time....
You're the second blog I've read tonight that says they're going to stop. Bet you can't. :)
Oof, that hurts. I've loved your writing from the first word I read, and I'm very sorry to read this. Still, I understand that the muse goes silent on occasion, and when it does, the best thing to do is take a break and get another perspective.
I'm keeping you on my blogroll and I'll check back here regularly. You're one of the few good ones, and it's been a joy crossing words with you. I hope we get to do it again soon.
I understand your decision, Carli. I think about stopping all the time too. I've been blogging for just over 2 years now and it often seems stale. I hope you come back to your blog--but I can understand why you want to go away.
