I'm thinking of changing the name of this blog. For one, the URL is long, and doesn't make much sense. How can I be the first lady of something when I'm not married and never plan to be married? For another, as I creep into other people's blogrolls (and thanks to all who have blogrolled me. You are two of my favorite people), I'm showing up with all different names:

Two problems:
1. I'll let you in on a little secret: I never really wanted the current URL. But every time I tried to enter a name, a "bad word" would creep into my head and I'd have to pick a new one. This is the one that I was finally able to settle on. I'm afraid if I try to pick again, I'll go through so many names that I'll wind up as QueenEleonorofGanymede.blogspot.com.
Seriously. It takes me forever to program my DVR, and I usually wind up just not recording anything. Therapy may help with this.
2. How do I make it so if people come to the old blog, they are automatically directed to the new one?

To answer your question first...When you are ready with your NEW Blog...do a LAST Post on your old blog, with the link..Nothing else except..."I've moved! And here is my new address/URL/ whatever..." And then put it there and I'm not sure if you have to use the linky thing....

I LOVE Betty Buckly...I saw a bootlegged thing of her in "Gypsy"...I thought she was great, great great. I have seen Ethel Merman--Original Cast Broadway; Angela Lansbury; Tyne Daley, and I would LOVE to see Patti Lupone...I think she is probably The Best....(Merman was fantastic...no question...)
I was at the opening of "Meet Me In St Louis"..I had flown in from California just for Betty....And as it turned out, I saw it another 4 or 5 times....Christastime and three other times...I had to come back to New York to gisit a very ill brother-in-law and then after he died--His funeral. I thought Betty was fantastic...
You know, I think the reason they did not revive "Carrie" is because it is such an expensive show to put on...No one can afford to Priduce it, especially since it was such a flop....Too risky....No one can raise that kimd of money anymore, epecially for Musicals....Sad, but true!

I did the same recently. I switched from a really long url at Blogger to something a bit easier at Wordpress. Here's what I did -- I simply left the old blog up for a couple of weeks till most of my readers figured it out. Instead of posting there, I simply directed them to my new one. Worked pretty well. Feel free to check my archives to see how I managed the transition.

About "Cagney & Lacey:
The more importamt thing was using my song as the theme music...It didn't matter about me singing it---What mattered was seven years of the use of the music...THAT is an anuity! So, I missed out on that. And indeed, I thought the theme they settled on was terrivic.
I think you would really like this series a lot, if you saw more of them. Netflix...should have the First Seasons DVD and maybe now, even the 2nd season....
I like the name on your blog- both of them- I've been meaning to link you so tell me which you'd prefer. Or maybe I should just wait until you move your blog if you're going to do so.
