A Few Random Thoughts

1.
  • I am swallowing my pride and having my mother come help me clean my closet and apartment on Saturday. Hopefully I will get enough done tomorrow night to not completely disappoint her. I am doing it myself. I have to believe I can, and besides, my mother seems really tired. And a tired Mom is an angry, sluggish Mom. It may take me the whole weekend, but this apartment will be clean for my birthday next week! And I learned how to draw a line through text.

    2. I am really glad I went back to therapy. I never thought I'd say that, but, well, here I am.

    3. Wendell had blood tests to make sure his asthma meds weren't causing liver or kidney disease. Everything came back fine. . . probably because half the time, he spits out the pill.

    4. Yesterday I told someone about a picture from when I was very little, and I said, "I was so freaking cute, I want to go back in time and kidnap and raise myself."

    5. Today I was in a store with my boss and there were giant plush globes. And I said, "You know what would be awesome? Globes the actual size of Earth." But that would not make sense, eh?

    6. I've decided not to try to see 150 movies this year. I hit 100, and whatever happens from here happens. I can't tie myself down to 17 movies a month for the next three months--not with Winter Wishes coming up, and the walks I want to take this fall, and football, etc.

    7. I've also decided to try to get all my holiday shopping done by the end of October, so that I don't overspend, overstress, or overthink they whole thing. That will give me more time to dedicate to the Winter Wishes program mentioned above, which I run for my floor at work. Last year we bought gifts for more than 60 children. I also want to try to get into gift consulting, whether for money or fun. I buy kick-ass gifts.

    8. The other day I was at the movies with Traci, and I said, "I don't want to be one of those freaks who watches like 5 movies a day." And she said, "Well, what kind of a freak do you want to be?"

    9. Today was not a great eating day, but I've lost about 15 pounds so far since starting back on medication--a welcome side effect is that I am able to control my eating so much better on Prozac.

    10. That's all for now. Except for this. Ziploc.

    11. Something else: I really need to improve my concentration and focus, and work on being less distracted. Any hints?

Number 4 has put me into a mental spin cycle.

Why do you insist on doing these things to me?

I am so on board with No. 7. I too want to finish my holiday shopping by end of October. I have an idea. You want to start a gift consulting business. I need gift-giving help. You need happy clients to boast about your gift-consulting abilities. Let's work something out.
    T-Mo.

P.S. I'm dead serious about this.

My problem with early holiday shopping is that if I buy early I don't stop!

Hey, it's good to read you're doing well. Congrats on the weight lost. 15 pounds is a lot. Hopefully the closet cleaning goes well this weekend. I need to do a closet cleaning of my own.

#7 would be easier for me if I didn't have sneaky kids jut spoiling for a look at their gifts- now that walmart has dropped their layaway I will be locking my shed the first of November & hoping the roof doesn't spring a new leak in it!
    I liked #4 too- & congrats on #9.
I notice no one has had any hints for you at # 11. I don't either- I was looking for suggestions too!

Michele sent me. I like the list today. So what kind of a freak do you want to be? Normalcy is so over rated.
    Have a great weekend.

Oh, I enjoyed reading each one of these.

I'm a firm believer in being able to personally select just what kind of freak I want to be. :)

    Hello, Michele sent me.

Good job-15 pounds!! I am lucky if I see five movies a month-on TV, that is.

I am the Queen of Distraction so I can't help you there. I have four kids: Two girls, a puppy, and my husbamd. ;)

Hello, Michele sent me...I really enjoyed reading your random thoughts...I know what you mean about #11 - I am the Queen of starting something and then going to something else in the middle of whatever I was doing before...And, I'm 61!

    Is Wendell the cat????

Okay, you know something I don't - how do you draw a line through like you did in #1???? I want to learn...

#4 is a bit odd, Carli. Post a pic of you at that age so we can judge too! I'll be nice. Really!

I like your other site. Thanks for the offer you make there. I wish I was prepared enough to do that. I generally don't buy anything until the week of Xmas. Procrastination isn't a disease, it's a religion!
