Mandy: Did I just hear you say on the phone, "Is Wendell out of surgery yet? Is he dead?"
Me: Yeah, I wanted to beat them to the punch just in case it was bad news.
Mandy: But who asks that? I guess it's just you being you. Just Carli.
For the record, Wendell's surgery hasn't even begun, so I am sitting here in distress waiting for it to start.
