Perhaps the bravest person on the Interweb, Randy Pausch calls himself the "healthiest dying man in America." Pausch has terminal cancer, but he is undergoing treatment that is buying him months of good health while postponing the inevitable. He earned a streak of Internet stardom a few months back with his inspiring "last lecture" speech, which you can find here.

I'm astonished by this man's ability to embrace life despite his impending death. Life certainly isn't fair. Randy Pausch seems like the kind of guy who should live 100 years.
And in the running for "most disgusting mother in America," I present the woman who wrote an essay under her 6-year-old daughter's name, claiming her father had died in Iraq, so that she could win Hannah Montana concert tickets. I particularly liked her excuse.
