A Little Gross

I've got some weird sinus situation going on. . . not to go into details, but there's pain and drippiness and it hurts to talk. This may be neti pot related. . . either I did it wrong and gave myself a sinus infection, or I did it right and all the bad stuff that's been stuck up in my nasal cavity is starting to drain. Now I have to decide whether to continue using the neti Pot, risking a worse infection or perhaps "staying the course," continuing to use the pot, and seeing if it makes things better. I'm leaning towards still using it, because I am impulsive and curious and would like to avoid the doctor and I'm starting to like the feeling of water pouring out my nostrils.
And now I'm going to get a call from my mother saying, "This is your health. You don't fool around with it. Enough with this new-age crap."

Anyway, I decided to cancel therapy tomorrow because there's no way I can talk for more than, like, 2 minutes without feeling like I'm going to drown in my own fluids. And I left a message saying, "Hi, this is Carli. I'm sick and I can't talk, so I have to cancel our appointment for tomorrow." And I thought about saying something like, "I'm sick and it hurts to talk. . . not in a metaphorical, emotionally-scarred way, but in a 'it genuinely causes me physical pain to speak' sort of way." But I chickened out and I just grunted that I was sick and wouldn't be there. And then I left my phone number, because her message has this whole shpiel about making sure to leave your number so she doesn't have to look it up, and I always feel that, even if I don't need or want a call back from her, I have an obligation to leave it.

I feel your pain on the sinus issues. I never bought a neti pot but I simply take a measuring glass and mix 1/4 teaspoon of salt with a cup of warm water and snort. Slowly. Make sure you didn't put too much salt in, that will give you a wicked burning, runny nose. Good luck.

Salt is good in the nostrils. I have cured several sinus infections with that. But that neti pot thing looks gross. I clinked on the link to make sure it was a legal pot you were using.

Now go to the doctor, coocoo brain. YOu have health insurance.

Carli I use a neti pot from time to time. I have a lot of sinus headaches and there are times where I'll try just about anything. I think the IDEA of it is much worse than the actual act.

Really this isn't "new age" stuff. My grandmother used to tell me to snuff saltwater for sinus problems years ago.
