As far as the whole "I don't want my nieces near the cat" thing, that's pretty much my way of saying, "I'm (somewhat irrationally) afraid something bad will happen if my nieces come to my apartment, like it's an 'unsafe zone' so I don't want them there."
I also wanted to give a well-deserved shout out to my most loyal reader:
Sarch, who despite Neilson ratings to the contrary, proves that I have a fan base in Alabama. Sarch, your comments do not go unnoticed. They are a highlight of my day, as are the kind comments from Ordinary Girl, BrianF, and anyone reading. I may not be famous, I may not even have that popular a blog, but the idea that someone is enjoying my writing, is UNDERSTANDING what I'm saying, means a lot to me. Whenever I was "funny" as a kid, my mother would discourage me by telling her friends, "If you laugh at her, you take her home."
