What's So Special About July 4?

I've seen every feature film on the TCM schedule for July 4.
The day starts with a tribute to Alfred Hitchcock, because nothing embodies the spirit of American independence more than a creepy British guy. On the roster, in order:

Notorious
Shadow of a Doubt
Psycho
Vertigo
The Birds
Rear Window

In the evening, the network segues into some appropriate All-American musicals:
Music Man
1776
Yankee Doodle Dandy
On the Town

Of the movies showing, I can wholeheartedly recommend all the musicals (although I will admit that many people are bored silly by 1776), and all of the Hitchcock movies, save for Vertigo, which I think is overrated.

Remember when I used to hyperlink all the movie titles to their descriptions? Yeah, I don't want to do that anymore.

Off to see what's on the Twilight Zone marathon. God Bless America!
