Ron Howard is on The Tonight Show, and he was just talking about his first movie job, working with Yul Brynner. And apparently Yul Brynner was breaking a lot of fake glass in the movie, and was afraid little 4-year-old Ronny would see it and think it was real, and go home and hurt himself playing with glass. So he put Ronny on his knee, and showed him that it was made out of sugar, and gave him some to try.
I just love the idea of big, tough Yul Brynner with a giggly Ronny Howard on his lap, sharing a snack of glass.

Ummm. Aren't kids taught not to go up to men who offer them candy? And especially not to sit in their laps (with the exception of Santa Claus--but I'm not even sure of that one), Carli? Maybe things were different way back then. :-)
