Eight is Enough

No, Nadia Saluiman, you're not being criticized for being a single mother. You're being criticized for accepting disability payments because you weren't well enough to work, but you were well enough to plop out babies like gumballs. You're being criticized for thinking there is any entry-level job that will let you support 14 children. . . for soliciting donations and fame and hoping for a reality TV show. . .

The sad thing is, there are people out there who think you're a hero. They will undoubtedly join the baby brigade, offering to watch the munchkins in exchange for recognition from you, the Supermom, and the bragging rights of saying they cared for these eight little gifts from G-d. Or a petri dish. Something. . .

You know who could really use the donations and the man hours though? How about the mother with cancer and not enough energy to take care of her home and children? The parents of a special-needs kid who never get any time for themselves? The out-of-work father who doesn't know where his child's next meal is coming from? Oh, wait. There's nothing sensationalistic about people just trying to get by.

You are entitled to nothing, Nadia Saluiman. Unconditional love is NOT enough to raise 14 children. I wish it was, because those children you created will spend their lives paying for your foolishness.
