So I found my new phone. . . the one I was very excited to have successfully negotiated with Sprint to get, cost free, as I had been so unhappy with my current phone and service. And my phone is squeaky clean. Unfortunately, it no longer works, because it’s been in the washing machine for the last 10 days.
Apparently it was lodged underneath that center piece of the machine, and it unlodged last night when I did another load of laundry. (I think I’ve done 4 or 5 loads in the past 10 days.)
SOME people don’t believe me that cosmic forces are working against me so that, in the words of Craig Manning on Degrassi: The Next Generation, “Everything I touch just turns to dust,” but I seriously think I’m cursed. Or just really irresponsible.
Luckily, I pay $6 a month for insurance so I can spend $50 on a replacement. Whoo hoo.
Cell phone companies suck. And I don’t think this story was blog-worthy, but my boss’s boss told me to blog it. I think he just wants my mother to find out I lost my phone.

Your mom reads your blog?
I don't like my current cellphone; it is way too easy to mute the ringer without realizing you have done it - then you miss calls all the time. I'd like to change too, but this one is not even a year old yet.
Michele sent me.
Cell phone companies are de debil. grrrr
I love that you know about Degrassi. The original show was a Canadian TV staple for my generation. LOL
Oops, forgot to say Michele sent me.
Drop by my place for a slice. :)
Cell phones are the pits. But getting a new one rocks!
I love that you are a movie freak. How do you find the time to sit and watch them? I can only do it once a week but when I was younger I would rent 5/5/5 and try to watch 5 movies in a weekend.
oops, Michele said hi!
Was it my turn to visit and I didn't? I didn't relaize, I'm sorry!!! Better late than never, right! Hi there from Michele's! :)
Hi...visiting from Michele's.
Sorry about the cell phone death, but at least you can get a new one. I imagine this one is mighty clean by now.
Cell phones are simultaniously the best and worst things invented--my husband has to have his with him all the time and it drives him crazy.
Sorry yours got stuck in the washing machine--that is very random!
On the bright side, you'll get an even better phone next time out.
I'm sure the insurance agents who read this (what, they read?) are all happy now that you've validated the value of insurance.
Go for one of the new Motorola RAZRs...they just announced a whole whack of cool new ones.
The links to your boss's boss and your mom cracked me up.
Carli, hi! I have no idea how old you are, but the thing about Degrassi is that it is Canadian. And it always (pleasantly) surprises me when anyone not above the 49th parallel knows a Canadian show! :)
