Don't You Hate

getting pieces of mail from people who claim you owe them money, only it's Friday night and you can't call to ask what the f they're talking about until Monday?

I am going to try not to let this ruin my weekend, since I have stuff I have to accomplish. Here is the list of things I want to accomplish this weekend. We'll see if I get it all (or any of it) done. Usually, when something is hanging over my head, I shut down completely and just try to sleep for as many hours as possible.

I think this is a throwback to when I was younger, and I knew my parents would come home angry from my parent-teacher conferences, so I'd go to sleep thinking that if I was sleeping, they couldn't yell at me. It worked once or twice. But once I was in enough trouble that they woke me up. . . something about me never getting into college. But I showed them. I got into—and graduated from—one of the best fourth-tier colleges in south central Pennsylvania!

  1. Clean apartment. I've been keeping it super clean lately, but right now it's a sty.
  2. Get haircut. I have a curly mullet right now. I swear, I am GOING to find a place in this town that gives a good haircut without charging an arm and a leg.
  3. Read several pages of my book. I won't set a quota, but I want to get into reading again, and I'm really enjoying the book I started today, A Primate's Memoir.
  4. Put all the crap that's on my mind aside and go to a museum or the NY Aquarium on Sunday.
  5. Hang out with Rachel (friend) Saturday night so that it's not Isolation City again this weekend.
  6. Watch at least 1 really good movie. Nothing has totally "wowed" me in a while.
  7. MAYBE, if I get everything else done, start to create links to all the movies listed here.
Right now, though, I'm going to watch tonight's Jeopardy! Thank goodness for DVR, is all I can say.

Hello Michele sent me. A good haircutter is ahrd to find, I agree.

A Primate's Memoir sounds intriguing. Fossey is no Jane Goodall and maybe neither is Sapolsky but more light or at least press on primates is interesting.

You've given me another reason to despise the mail system.

SO...did you get your hair cut?

I never open any mail on the weekend. That is a rule. It can make or break a weekend.

Nice list you have for the weekend. I hope you got them done.
