Every hour, on the hour, a women's voice coming from inside my beloved MacMini tells me the time. Usually, I say, "Thank you, Carol." I'm not sure if Carol is my computer's name or simply the name of the woman living inside my computer, but I started responding that way and am not about to stop.
This morning, at 8:00 a.m., Carol gave me the time. My phone alarm went off. And Good Morning America came back from commercial break--and it all happened at the same time. . .
Which reminded me of a conversation I had with Sam a few months ago. I told her I preferred to use my phone as my clock, rather than a traditional watch, because the phone--much like my computer and ABC news--is connected to the outside world of networks and satellites and therefore was always on the correct time. And then I said, "It, like, calibrates itself with the SKY."
Okay, not the most scientific explanation, but it got the point across.

I recently read an article that said fewer folks are wearing watches because everything tells time nowadays. It touched on how cell phones get their time from the network.
Looks like you're already way ahead of the curve!
I have one of those projection alarm clocks that shoots the time on my ceiling or wall so I can see it at night. It is an atomic clock so when it goes off in the morning, it's the same exact moment that the 5am local news comes on. After the third time it freaked me out, I remembered it was the clock...not kismet! LOL
Visiting from Michele's.
