I don't understand why people clap after singing "Happy Birthday." It's like, why is the person deserving of applause? Because they didn't die? That's not usually something people have control of. That applause amounts to, "Congratulations on not getting some horrible disease or not slitting your wrists." Simply existing is not worthy of that kind of praise.
I also think it's inappropriate to clap when someone finds the Daily Double on Jeopardy! They picked a clue. It happened to be the Daily Double. It doesn't take any skill, people.
